Our Building Services Engineers were commissioned to carry out the M&E performance design for this mixed use scheme.

The existing Gala Bingo hall in Portland Road, Hove was demolished to create 35 new build mixed tenure flats, including a doctor’s surgery, pharmacy and two commercial units. The site is situated adjacent to a school and surrounded on two sides by residential developments.

The residential units were designed to meet Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 with 4 disabled units achieving Code Level 4.

The client brief was for the development to minimize heat loss and energy consumption through the building fabric, efficient services design and low carbon technologies.

Our work also included monitoring duties on the Contractor’s MEP design and installation as well as BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes assessments. The scheme as completed in July 2015.
